target markets identified

  • Theatre lovers: the crowd of people who attend the theatre performances in Trinidad and Tobago allowing the work to continue.
  • The uninitiated theatregoer.
  • Students (secondary school and university level).
  • Potential theatre practitioners.
  • Teachers who can benefit from understanding the importance of drama and theatre in development. They need to have an awareness of the useful tools that drama can bring to many situations and understand the role that identity plays in self confidence and society.

activities planned

  • Theatre tours with the aim to give participants an in-depth view of the inside workings of a theatre conducted by qualified technical and stage management personnel. These would be categorised in two major areas:
    • Backstage tours, where the audience gets to see the backstage workings of a production.
    • Technical tours, including the lighting/sound booth, riggings and other specialised equipment.
  • Plays chosen because they resonate the goals of the Theatre Month as a whole.
  • Dramatic Readings from plays by 'new' local playwrights.
  • Monologues.
  • Schools' performances.
  • An invited group from abroad (Caricom submission)
  • Workshops/ Seminars to include:
  • A beginners' acting course, designed specifically for non-theatre people to give them an idea of the craft.
    • A beginners' course in Technical theatre.
    • Actors' Master Classes.
    • The support acquired
