17th Cacique Awards to be held August 2

The 17th annual Cacique Awards will be held on August 2 at the Queen's Hall in Port of Spain. "I agreed to do this because I'm tired of everyone in Trinidad complaining and not doing anything about it ... and if this will help, I'll do it," Cecilia Salazar, director of the awards, said yesterday. Speaking at a brunch held to launch the awards at d'Bocas Restaurant in Port of Spain, Salazar referred to the theme chosen for this year's ceremony - "Awareness".
